CleanSpark hits Bitcoin hash rate of 10 EH/s

The American bitcoin miner CleanSpark has increased its hashrate to 10 EH/s, ranking behind only a few publicly traded peers in the industry.

The firm said it had reached the milestone thanks to software optimisation and increased efficiency of its equipment fleet.

In recent months, the company has replaced older installations with Bitmain’s Antminer S19 XP. This has enabled CleanSpark to achieve an average energy efficiency of 27.8 J/TH.

In October the firm announced the purchase of the recently introduced devices Antminer S21 with a total hashrate of 4.4 EH/s. Equipment deliveries are expected in early 2024, and after deployment the company’s mining capacity is expected to rise to 20 EH/s.

According to analyst Jaran Mellerud, the company’s hashrate has already approached Riot Platforms’ 11 EH/s. Among publicly traded miners, it also surpasses Riot Blockchain (15 EH/s) and Marathon Digital (19 EH/s).

«Both measures—optimising efficiency on the one hand and expanding the fleet on the other—are helping us reach the scale and position that we expect will make us among the best prepared for the upcoming halving,» commented CleanSpark CEO Zack Bradford.

Earlier in May, the company’s CEO announced the goal of achieving park efficiency of 26 J/TH by year-end.
