Coinbase and Mastercard to enable NFT purchases with bank cards
Coinbase and payments giant Mastercard announced a joint initiative aimed at simplifying NFT purchases on the exchange’s forthcoming NFT marketplace.
According to the press release, the collaboration between the two companies will make purchasing non-fungible tokens on the platform as easy as “buying a T-shirt online”.
“Coinbase wants to simplify the user experience so that more people can join the NFT community. We have helped millions access Bitcoin in a simple and reliable way; we want to do the same for NFTs,” the cryptocurrency exchange said.
The company announced the launch of an NFT marketplace in October 2021. The platform will enable users to mint and sell digital items. At the same time, the company opened signups to the waitlist. According to The Block, more than a million applications have already been submitted.
As noted in November 2021, Mastercard announced the launch of debit, credit and prepaid payment cards tied to Bitcoin in the Asia-Pacific region.
