Coinbase announces a Visa debit card for US residents.

The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has announced the launch of a Visa debit card offering cashback in Bitcoin and Stellar for US users.

The company invited users to join a waitlist to receive the Coinbase Card in winter. The virtual version would be available immediately, with the physical card arriving by mail within two weeks.

The card will allow spending cryptocurrency directly from the exchange account. US residents will be able to pay with Coinbase Card online or in stores, withdraw cash at ATMs, and earn 1% back in Bitcoin or 4% back in Stellar (XLM).

UK users gained access to Coinbase Card in April 2019. A few months later, the company rolled out cards for residents of Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands.
