Since the beginning of 2021, the bitcoin exchange Coinbase increased its customer-support staff fivefold after numerous complaints from customers. 3,000 people joined the company.
According to Coinbase’s vice president of support, Casper Sorensen, the exchange dramatically reduced the backlog of user complaints.
He added that since January, the number of complaints has fallen by 70%, while the number of customers has risen by 28%.
The trading platform plans to roll out online chat and phone support in the coming months.
In March 2018, Coinbase users filed two class-action lawsuits against the company — for insider trading during the Bitcoin Cash listing and for violations of California’s Unclaimed Property Law.
In June of the same year, Mashable published a 134-page list of complaints about the trading platform to the California Department of Business Oversight and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
In the past year in the United States, the number of user complaints about the operation of bitcoin exchanges has risen.
