The registration authorised Coinbase Europe and Coinbase Custody International to continue providing products and services to individuals and institutions in Europe, as well as abroad from Ireland.

The operations are subject to the local Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing law.

In 2019, Coinbase obtained a licence to issue electronic money for Coinbase Ireland.

Earlier in Ireland, the regulator first allowed Gemini to operate as a digital asset provider.

Earlier, Coinbase obtained licenses to provide cryptocurrency services from британского, немецкого и итальянского регуляторов.
