Coinbase launches its wallet as a standalone browser extension

The American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced that customers can now use its digital wallet as a standalone browser extension.

On May 17, the bitcoin exchange introduced Coinbase Wallet for Chrome. At that time, transaction confirmations required verification through the wallet’s mobile app.

The new version allows users to bypass this limitation and competes with MetaMask and its analogues.

The company pledged to continue developing a user-friendly digital wallet.

As previously reported, in July Coinbase Wallet gained support for decentralized applications (dapps) on the Layer 2 scaling network Polygon. This was preceded by similar actions regarding the alternative L2 technology Optimistic Rollup.
