Coinbase premium plunges to a 12‑month low
By early 2025, the Coinbase premium fell to a 12-month low of -0.237, noted CryptoQuant analyst Burak Kesmeci.
He observed that the previous low was recorded on October 25 (-0.2) “amid rising uncertainty” ahead of the US presidential election.

The expert links the drop in the Coinbase premium to bitcoin’s recent correction to $91,500 amid thin market liquidity and mounting selling pressure.
“This drop not only signals insufficient institutional demand, but also points to caution among American investors,” noted Kesmeci.
In his view, such trends hinder a short-term recovery in bitcoin’s price. Reviving the market would require changes in macroeconomic conditions and renewed institutional activity.
At the time of writing, the leading cryptocurrency is trading around $96,760. Over the past 24 hours, the asset is up 3.5%, according to CoinGecko.
Earlier, a CryptoQuant contributor explained who among investors was most actively selling bitcoin as the cryptocurrency approached the psychological $100,000 level.
