Coinbase to Establish Office in North Carolina, Hiring Over 130 Staff
Coinbase plans to hire more than 130 specialists for a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina. A representative of the cryptocurrency exchange confirmed the plans in a comment to Cointelegraph.
The company aims to recruit locals for roles in regulatory compliance and customer support, with the hiring process to be completed within six months.
A Coinbase spokesperson cited Charlotte’s status as a key fintech hub in the U.S. as the reason for the choice. The burgeoning job market and highly skilled professionals make this region ideal for business expansion, he noted.
Coinbase continues to prioritize remote work, with about 95% of employees having the flexibility to work from home, the office, or a combination of both.
The expansion plans in Charlotte are part of a broader initiative. Earlier, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced the intention to hire around 1,000 employees in the U.S. this year, highlighting an improved regulatory environment for the cryptocurrency industry.
