CoinGecko compiles list of popular Web3 games for 2023

As of 2023, Alien Worlds and Splinterlands are the most popular Web3 games, with more than 130,000 unique active wallets (UAW) engaging with each daily. CoinGecko reports.

Among other projects most played this year were Farmers World, Planet IX and Iskra. Each of them has over 35,000 UAW per day.

The ranking includes four games with building mechanics: Alien Worlds, Planet IX, Meta Apes and PROSPECTORS. These projects are played by 72,636 people daily.

The most popular collectible card games that use the NFT technology became Splinterlands, Axie Infinity, Era7: Game of Truth and Tiny World. Their average daily users stand at 39,817.

Three additional top titles are MMORPGs: Nine Chronicles, SecondLive and Tap Fantasy.

Nearly half of the top 20 are ‘casual or even hyper-casual games’. For example, farmer simulators Farmers World and Upland, as well as mini-game sets Iskra, PlayMining, X World Games and Taco. These projects attract an average of 20,043 users per day.

The leading casual adventure P2E games were Benji Bananas and Wombat Dungeon Masters, with daily UAW of 13,377 and 10,887 respectively.

In February, Indian gaming startup Kratos Studios closed an investment round of $20 million at a valuation of $150 million.

In the same month, the blockchain game Worldwide Webb raised $10 million from Pantera Capital.

In March, the venture firm a16z participated in a $40 million funding round for CCP Games developers. The latter will use the funds to develop a Web3 game set in the EVE space universe.
