CoinGecko Explores Corn's L2 Network Airdrop Features

CoinGecko experts have outlined the opportunities for participating in the Corn Ethereum Layer 2 network airdrop by earning Kernel points.

The project aims to integrate Bitcoin into the Ethereum ecosystem, enabling coin holders to generate additional income.

Corn employs a tokenized version of digital gold called BTCN, which is backed one-to-one. The underlying asset is held by various custodians, in smart contracts, and cross-chain bridges. The coin is used for gas payments in the protocol and to reward Bitcoin holders using various DeFi applications.

In addition to BTCN, the network will issue a native token, CORN. This asset is intended for staking and project governance.

On August 22, the Corn team launched an airdrop program, allowing users to earn Kernel reward points. These points will determine future CORN rewards.

Eligible participants will receive a “sign-up bonus,” determined by their interaction with protocols from a specific list, including Arbitrum, Ether.fi, and Pendle. Developers took a snapshot for distribution on July 10, covering over a million unique addresses.

However, users still have the opportunity to join the airdrop at this stage, CoinGecko noted.

How to Participate in the CORN Airdrop

Experts advise starting by checking your Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets (ENS address) for eligibility.

If you do not meet the requirements, you must register using a referral code. This can be obtained from friends already joined to Corn or found in the project’s official channels on Discord, Telegram, and X.

Next, you need to deposit into one of the “bunkers” (pools) with various multipliers — from 1.25x (sDAI and weETH) to 2x (WBTC). Before confirming the transaction, the interface will show the estimated Kernel accrual rate per hour and the remaining amount.

Then, you can start earning points on the Galxe platform by completing various social tasks such as reposts.

Be sure to use the same wallet address as Corn to avoid losing progress. One point earned is equivalent to one Kernel.

Users receive additional points for participating in the referral program. To share an invitation code, it must be generated through the interface.

CoinGecko emphasized that despite the Corn team’s confirmation of the token distribution, the official date has not been announced.

“Please note that airdrop farming is a highly speculative process, and potential scammers operate in this area. Always conduct your own research and thoroughly check any platform before connecting your wallet,” the experts concluded.

Earlier this year, participants in the crypto industry received approximately $4 billion in various tokens through airdrops, according to The Block.
