CoinGecko Survey Reveals Cautious Optimism Among Traders for AI Tokens

Approximately half of surveyed cryptocurrency users hold a positive outlook on AI tokens, according to data from CoinGecko.

46.9% of market participants expressed a positive sentiment towards crypto products utilizing artificial intelligence. Of these, 19.9% are “somewhat bullish,” while 27% are simply “bullish.”

29% of respondents took a neutral stance, while the remaining 24.1% were negative.

Market participants expressed similar sentiments regarding AI tokens, indicating a distinction between the investment potential of the assets and the technology itself.

“Such market sentiments, in turn, may reflect expectations that it is time for crypto-AI to move beyond the conceptual stage and become a mature sector,” CoinGecko emphasized.

The study involved 2,632 users, among whom:

  • 51% consider themselves long-term investors;
  • 26% are traders with short-term assets;
  • 10% are developers;
  • 13% are external observers.

For 53%, the current cycle is their first (up to three years in the industry), for 34% it is their second (four to seven years), and the rest have over eight years of experience.

The survey was conducted from February 20 to March 10.

Earlier in February, experts from the Swiss crypto bank Sygnum Bank identified AI tokens as a potential new trend for 2025, though they remain speculative assets for now.

Binance founder Changpeng Zhao believes that not every AI agent needs its own token.
