The most popular platform among the community is X, cited by 41.7% of respondents.
Experts noted that this figure still falls short of half the time spent by the target audience.
“[…] while the narrative of ‘crypto-Twitter’ is well known, and its content and discussions are often widely quoted or mentioned, X is not the only online space where the community primarily gathers,” they emphasized.
Following in popularity, Telegram and YouTube showed roughly equal results with shares of 21.5% and 20.8% respectively.
Discord was named by 6.8% of survey participants, while Reddit was mentioned by 4.5%. CoinGecko specialists suggested that these platforms are viewed by users as additional information resources.
X also emerged as the main source of crypto news for most users, with a figure of 34.4%.
In this regard, YouTube and Telegram swapped places, being named by 23.6% and 16% of respondents respectively.
“Overall, more than half of the community prefers to get information from the same social networks where they spend most of their time, rather than turning to other sources,” experts noted.
News websites are the primary resource for current events in the industry for only 6.5% of survey participants.
The study involved 2,558 individuals from Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa (collectively over 90%), as well as from Oceania and South America. 69% of respondents identified as crypto investors with long-term holdings, while 18% described themselves as traders with a predominantly short-term interest in assets.
Earlier, CoinGecko experts found that in the second quarter, meme tokens were the most popular narrative in the digital asset ecosystem.
