Comedian Idrak Mirzalizade sold his annulled Russian residence permit for 10 ETH

Comedian Idrak Mirzalizade sold at auction his annulled residence permit in Russia for 10 ETH (about $28,700 at the time of writing). A video circulating via the Telegram channel Mash provides evidence.

Initially Mirzalizade had put the document up for sale as an NFT, but for the bid he agreed to hand over the paper copy as well.

In August 2021, the Russian Interior Ministry deemed Mirzalizade’s stay in Russia “permanently undesirable,” noting in one of his jokes “incitement of hatred and hostility toward people of Russian nationality.”

In December the comedian put up for auction an NFT of the residence permit via the OpenSea, setting the price at 10 ETH.

Update:

Initially it was reported that the residence permit had sold for 5 ETH, but later Mirzalizade clarified that he sold the NFT on OpenSea for 10 ETH. The buyer was the offline auction winner, the comedian told СМИ.
