Community ties Celsius Network to the address that lost 900 BTC in the Badger DAO hack
The centralized Celsius Network crypto-lending platform could have lost more than $50 million due to an unauthorized withdrawal from the Badger DAO DeFi protocol. Such an assertion сделали Reddit and Twitter users.
The project was hacked on December 2. PeckShield experts estimated the damage at more than $120 million. They also noted that one address had lost ~900 BTC (more than $50 million at current prices). A Celsius Network community representative on Twitter suggested that the address identified by the analysts is linked to Celsius Network.

A post on the Celsius Network dedicated subreddit described possible losses. However, moderators removed it.
Another Reddit user explained his suspicions by noting that the affected address 0x53461e4fddcc1385f1256ae24ce3505be664f249 «interacted with other addresses that are known to belong to them [Celsius Network].»
One of them frequently interacts with the address tagged on Etherscan as Celsius Network Wallet 5:
«Эти два адреса часто взаимодействуют друг с другом, вы можете видеть, что 0xdb3 и 0x476 многократно отправляют друг другу большие суммы. […] Высока вероятность, что потерявший 900 BTC адрес принадлежал Celsius. Celsius еще ничего не подтвердил, так что пока это все предположения», — подчеркнул пользователь.
Representatives of Celsius Network did not respond to ForkLog’s request . In their Twitter account they said that clients’ funds were not affected.

The Celsius team reminded the community to exercise particular caution when engaging with DeFi platforms.
In September regulators in Alabama, Kentucky, Texas and New Jersey accused Celsius Network of selling unregistered securities.
In late November the platform raised its Series B to $750 million, valuing the firm at $3.25 billion.
