Under the technological partnership, the partners will work to improve the performance of the Ethereum-based public Klaytn network, and will also develop its private version with special features, including:
- privacy;
- a Layer 2 solution to boost scalability;
- interoperability with other blockchains.
According to the statement, these options will be crucial for optimizing the CBDC platform that Klaytn was preparing to participate in Bank of Korea pilot project by the end of 2021.
“We at ConsenSys are committed to supporting global CBDC efforts and have substantial experience in this area, helping eight major central banks around the world in pilot projects,” said the Asia-Pacific managing director Charles d’Ossi.
Kakao launched the Klaytn mainnet in 2019.
