Court shortens sentence for former Slovak Slovan hockey player Igor Musatov in bitcoin-fraud case

The Moscow City Court reduced the sentence of the former Slovak Slovan hockey player Igor Musatov, who was found guilty of large-scale bitcoin fraud, by three months.

According to TASS, citing the court’s press service, the court recognised as mitigating circumstances Musatov’s prolonged detention in a pre-trial detention facility, as well as the fact that he had no prior criminal record.

He will now serve three years and nine months in a general regime penal colony.

In 2019, Musatov was detained in the $800,000 bitcoin fraud case. Last year the court found him guilty.
