Cronos Labs, the Cronos ecosystem development organization, initiated the third cohort of the acceleration programme worth $100m.
Eight startups will have access to the funding.
Mentors for the teams will include specialists from Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, PeckShield and Certik.
The programme will start on 4 September during Korea Blockchain Week and will run for 12 weeks.
“We see an opportunity to build teams at the intersection of cryptocurrency and AI. In it, the latter provides unprecedented speed and efficiency in bringing products to market, and decentralized infrastructure has the potential to democratize AI to ensure broader accessibility and neutrality,” — the announcement said.
The convergence of the two technologies could change the way companies are organized, leading to a sharp reduction in costs and explosive productivity growth, according to ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood.
Previously, the DFINITY Foundation, behind the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) ecosystem, launched a $5m grant program to develop DeAI.
