Crypto broker Voyager Digital has secured $75 million from Sam Bankman-Fried’s Alameda Research
The cryptocurrency broker Voyager Digital secured $75 million from Alameda Research, Sam Bankman-Fried’s venture firm. The parties stressed that the investment is strategic.
According to the press release, since Alameda Research is one of the largest market makers and uses sophisticated market-neutral trading algorithms, it “is a perfect fit” as a lending partner for Voyager Digital. The deal will also allow the broker to expand its rewards program.
“Alameda is one of the largest market makers in the crypto market; we believe that working together opens up significant opportunities. Our near-term plans relate to order flows and asset management. Future opportunities include non-fungible tokens and offering crypto derivatives through Alameda,” said the broker’s CEO and co-founder Steve Ehrlich.
On October 27, Voyager Digital also announced the signing of a five-year partnership with billionaire Mark Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks.
