Crypto broker Voyager halts trading after attack

The digital asset broker Voyager Digital, listed on the Canadian stock exchange, switched trading to offline mode after a DNS server attack.

Voyager would like to thank you for your patience while our system is offline. We detected a threat to our system, and as part of our process and procedures to secure funds and customer information, we promptly shut down the system.

According to company representatives, the attack compromised the exchange system but did not affect funds or users’ personal data. Voyager plans to resume operations within 24 hours.

We want to reiterate that no funds or personal information were compromised. To ensure the on-going safety of customer funds and information, we anticipate it will take us approximately 24-hours to get the app back online. (3/4)

The Voyager Digital trading platform was launched in 2017 and offers commission-free trading of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

In July, the company reported projected profit of $1.1 million for the current fiscal year.

Earlier in October, Voyager acquired the regulated French cryptocurrency exchange LGO.
