Crypto Developer Announces Release in Turkey
An Argentine blockchain developer known by the pseudonym Fede’s intern has announced his release in Turkey. He was previously detained in Izmir on charges of aiding in the “improper use of Ethereum.”
I’m finally out, safe and free. There was a small moment were things looked very bad but thanks to help from many I got released. Sorry if I didn’t answer every message. I was in calls non stop the last 24 hours with too many people and I only slept two hours.

“I’m finally out, safe and free,” he wrote on social network X.
The developer explained that he had flown to Izmir for meetings with colleagues and entrepreneurs regarding a DeFi project. He was detained at passport control and informed of a ban on entering the country.
Later, a lawyer explained that the charge was related to a certain privacy protocol. Fede’s intern speculated that it concerned a research paper on the crypto mixer Tornado Cash.
“We did not develop privacy features, but only published code and an article showing how to deanonymize users,” he clarified.
The developer emphasized that his work was purely for research purposes.
Following his release, Fede’s intern announced a donation of $500,000 for the legal defense of Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm. He noted that the associated firm Lambda Class initially planned to allocate $50,000 but increased the amount after the incident in Turkey.
Back in August, Storm was found guilty of conspiracy to conduct an unlicensed money transfer business.
