Crypto Investors See Average Profit of $5482 in 2024, Report Reveals

The average realised profit for digital asset holders in 2024 amounted to $5482 compared to $888 in the previous 12 months. These estimates were presented by specialists from the tax platform CoinLedger, reports The Block.

The greatest unrealised profits were brought by Bitcoin, Hyperliquid, SuperVerse, Shiba Inu, and Render.

“Cryptocurrencies are in a bull market. The results of the 2024 presidential elections have elevated enthusiasm in digital assets to new heights”, commented CoinLedger CEO David Kemmerer.

The largest losses were associated with Ethereum, Cardano, Polkadot, Cosmos, and Cronos.

CoinLedger’s user base consists of over 500,000 crypto investors, of which 80% are residents of the United States, 6% of Australia, 5% of Canada, and 9% from other countries.

Bitcoin continues to lead as the most popular asset among hodlers for the second consecutive year. Ethereum, XRP, and Cardano follow in this criterion.

Ledger ranked first in the number of the most common wallets used for importing data into the tax platform, indicating a growing focus on hardware solutions.

Following in this ranking are MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase, and Trust Wallet, which surpassed Ledger’s competitors Tangem and Trezor.

Binance lost its leadership in user data imports, overtaken by Coinbase. Crypto.com dropped to third place. Kraken became the fourth most popular.

Despite the suspension of USD deposits and withdrawals on Binance.US in June 2023, it remained in the top five of the service’s ranking in 2024. Following are Robinhood and KuCoin.
