Crypto Week Uzbekistan 2024 Attracts Over 200 Participants

From June 3-6, the international conference Crypto Week Uzbekistan 2024 was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, drawing over 200 experts and crypto enthusiasts.

The event was organized by the National Agency of Perspective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NAPP), the law firm PraeLegal Uzbekistan, and the company Heemera.

The conference featured open discussions as well as closed B2B and B2G meetings:

  • Askat Gimranov, head of the Uzbekistan internet domain administration at UzInfocom, presented the Token.uz initiative aimed at enhancing digital asset management efficiency;
  • Sherzod Abdulkasymov, managing director of PraeLegal Uzbekistan, analyzed the crypto asset landscape in Uzbekistan, including regulatory frameworks and trends;
  • Artem Semko, head of partnerships at Crystal, addressed the localization of applications in blockchain analytics;
  • Nino Sievi, a partner at Nater Dallafior, delivered a report on legal solutions for conflicts in the crypto environment;
  • Elena Ageyonok, senior marketing and sales specialist at Crystal, examined the European experience of using crypto assets in the traditional financial sector;
  • Denis Shipilov, CEO of Lockton Hub, presented the concept of tokenizing real assets on the Lockton Finance platform;
  • Mukhiddin Salokhiddinov, director of InDAO, discussed building a trust environment in decentralized governance, decentralized identification, and the Zero-Knowledge Proof protocol;
  • Vladimir Gorgadze, head of the blockchain department at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, emphasized the importance of education in digital assets for the real economy sector;
  • Arnold Grizov, business development manager at CityPay.io, shared the success story of the payment system in Georgia.

Additionally, Crypto Week Uzbekistan 2024 included panel discussions on current blockchain industry issues, as well as practical workshops and training for law enforcement and security specialists. Experts from PraeLegal Uzbekistan, Heemera, Crystal, and Chainalysis discussed methods and tools aimed at combating crypto crimes and recovering stolen assets.

“A significant event was the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between PraeLegal Uzbekistan, Tashkent International University, and Heemera. This collaboration aims to integrate crypto and blockchain education into the university’s curriculum,” the press release stated.

The event also featured a representative from Tether Limited, who provided recommendations for effective interaction with the issuer and exchanges.

In May, the company JAPAN DXT became the third licensed crypto depository in Uzbekistan. In addition, NAPP has also granted licenses to two exchanges and ten crypto exchanges.
