
Cryptocurrency trader robbed of $448,700 in Hong Kong
After a cryptocurrency sale, a Hong Kong woman was robbed of $448,700. The South China Morning Post reported this.

The buyer of digital currency invited the trader to the office of a shopping mall to complete the deal. She transferred USDT tokens and received HK$3.5 million in cash.

After completing the transaction, three men ran from a nearby room and, threatening with a knife, took the victim’s money and smartphone. They locked the woman in the office, and all four fled. She called her husband on a second phone, and he alerted the police.

Earlier, the trader had conducted several successful deals with this buyer. According to the police, criminals used this method to win the victim’s trust.

According to law enforcement authorities, the office had recently been leased on a short-term basis.
