Cyberattacks in Ukraine target Telegram accounts
Officials from Ukraine’s State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection said there had been a series of cyberattacks aimed at gaining access to Telegram accounts.
Malicious actors are circulating among Ukrainian citizens messages containing a malicious link supposedly to the Telegram site, in order to gain unauthorized access to accounts, including the ability to intercept one-time SMS codes.

As a result, cybercriminals steal session data, contact lists and chat history in Telegram.
The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection urged users not to click on suspicious links, and to enable an additional password for Telegram’s two-step authentication, in addition to the SMS code.
“In case of receiving such messages, please promptly inform Ukraine’s cyber security services for immediate blocking of malicious web resources,” they added.
Earlier in late March, Ukraine’s Security Service dismantled an interregional network of five bot farms with more than 100,000 fake accounts.
