Dagestani miner suspected of stealing electricity worth 1.3 million rubles

Staff from Rosseti North Caucasus identified electricity theft by a mining farm in Dagestan. The company’s press service said.

The offender was detected during a raid in the village of Chontaul. He had set up a mining farm inside a container on the premises of a former canning plant.

\n

The offender illegally consumed about 307 MWh, worth more than 1.3 million rubles.

\n

Energy officials prepared a notice of unauthorized electricity consumption and forwarded the information to law enforcement authorities.

\n

The offender faces both administrative and criminal liability.

\n

Earlier in August, Dagestani miners stole electricity worth nearly 2 million rubles.
