Data of Magacoin users linked to Trump supporters leaked online

Hackers gained access to data of Magacoin users, the digital currency created by supporters of former US president Donald Trump, according to The Guardian.

As a result of the breach, the attackers exposed cryptocurrency wallet addresses, email addresses, passwords, and IP addresses of Magacoin buyers. Among them were the data of some media figures among conservatives and Republicans.

A total of around a thousand people have registered on the site. The project offers 100 coins to each new user.

According to the publication, Magacoin and the site linked to it are currently controlled by Trump supporter Reilly O’Neil.

The digital asset is named after the widely known slogan Make America Great Again (MAGA), which Donald Trump used in his presidential campaign. A total of about 75 million coins have been issued, in line with the number of voters who voted for Trump on November 3, 2020.

The digital currency is positioned as a tool to help support candidates in Magacoin.

Earlier in July, the Gettr allowed a leak days after launch.
