DC Comics tells its artists to refrain from selling NFTs

DC Comics’ Senior Vice President for Legal Affairs, Jay Kogan, sent letters to the publisher’s artists demanding that they refrain from selling non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Gizmodo reports.

According to the report, DC Comics is unhappy about the sale of its intellectual property. The company is allegedly itself interested in the NFT segment.

“DC is working through the structure of the NFT market. We are developing a reasonable and fair solution for all parties involved, including fans and collectors,” the letter from Jay Kogan says.

The company also urged artists to contact Vice President Lawrence Ganem if anyone offers them collaboration in the NFT industry.

Earlier, former DC Comics artist Jose Delbo earned $1.85 million from selling non-fungible tokens featuring Wonder Woman.

In March, an NFT copy of a Banksy painting titled “Morons” sold at auction for 228.69 ETH. Christie’s sold Beeple’s work titled “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” for a record $69.3 million.

Earlier, an unknown bought one of the nine alien CryptoPunks, CryptoPunk 7804 for 4200 ETH (about $7.6 million at the time of writing).
