The Fantom smart-contract platform community voted to integrate the lending DeFi project Aave. The proposal received 99.98% of the votes.
The Fantom Foundation will provide an engineering team to address issues during the deployment of the protocol.
Presumably, after launch, Aave could become a participant in the Fantom Incentive program. Under it, projects can receive up to 6 million FTM tokens per month (about $14.3 million).
The proposal to deploy Aave was initiated by Fantom Foundation CEO Michael Kong, who described himself as a longtime supporter of the DeFi project.
He noted that he does not foresee any technical difficulties, as the platform supports all the necessary Aave tools.
Previously, in October 2021, the Fantom team brought to vote in Aave Governance a proposal to launch the protocol on the platform, which received 99.74% support.
In the same month Aave integrated with the Avalanche blockchain. Prior to this, the project had been deployed only on Ethereum and Polygon.
Earlier in January 2022, the Fantom ecosystem rose to third place by the volume of locked assets, behind only Ethereum and Terra.
