“Internet Computer smart contracts can now interact with any EVM network. This means any decentralized applications can benefit from cross-chain liquidity, community merging, and simplified API key handling,” noted DFINITY Foundation Vice President Lomesha Dutta.
According to him, L2 solutions Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base have already been integrated, but “anyone can add other EVM networks at any time.”
Dutta emphasized that Internet Computer smart contracts are already operational with Bitcoin and Ethereum in the context of projects Bioniq, Bitfinity, and Omnity.
The organization stated that integration with the Solana blockchain will soon occur as part of the Chain Fusion interoperability initiative.
Previously, DFINITY President Dominic Williams described 95% of blockchains as “rubbish,” expressing confidence that only Internet Computer is a “third-generation network.”
