Discord CEO says there are no plans to integrate with Ethereum
Discord Messenger is “not currently planning” to integrate with the Ethereum blockchain. This was stated by the company’s CEO Jason Citron.
Thanks for all the perspectives everyone. We have no current plans to ship this internal concept. For now we’re focused on protecting users from spam, scams and fraud. Web3 has lots of good but also lots of problems we need to work through at our scale. More soon.

“Thanks to everyone for the input. At the moment we are not planning to launch this internal feature. We are now focused on protecting users from spam, scams and fraud. Web 3.0 has many advantages, but there are also problems we need to address at our scale,” he wrote.
On November 8, in response to a post by Not Boring founder Pak McCormick about potential Discord development in the Web 3.0 ecosystem, Citron posted a screenshot, showing a connection to the messenger from external Ethereum wallets such as MetaMask.
Users reacted negatively to the CEO’s hint. Some заявили, that this way Discord is encouraging financial pyramids, and urged others to cancel
TL;DR don’t leave the Discord platform whenever they officially implement N/F/T and cry/pto wallet support Cancel your Nitro and put stress on their servers, they will start to heavily lose money. https://t.co/eZGrvG8kgp — AB1 (7 days 🎂) (@SySAmii_) November 9, 2021 Nitro is Discord’s premium service costing $9.99 per month ($4.99 for the budget Nitro Classic).
