Disney and Dapper Labs to launch Pinnacle NFT platform

Dapper Labs and The Walt Disney Company запустят a mobile-focused NFT-платформу Pinnacle on the Flow blockchain.

The initiative is pitched as a “socially oriented collecting experience … in the digital age.”

The solution will give fans the ability to acquire and exchange ‘digital badges’ tied to Disney’s 100-year history, including from the Pixar lineup and «Star Wars».

Disney Pinnacle is slated to appear in the App Store by year-end.

In March, WSJ sources reported that the corporation closed its virtual-worlds division.

In July 2023, Dapper Labs laid off 51 employees. The layoffs came amid a global downturn in the non-fungible token market.

According to the Dune dashboard Dune, NFT trading volumes on leading marketplaces, including OpenSea, LooksRare and Blur, had been falling since the collapse of FTX. Additionally, most marketplaces recorded an outflow of unique users.

In May 2022, Dapper Labsraised $750 million for the Flow ecosystem development fund.
