Disney posts vacancy for chief counsel to work on NFT, metaverses, blockchain and DeFi deals

Disney began the search for a chief counsel to work on deals related to NFT, metaverses, blockchain and decentralized finance.

The position was posted on September 23 and entails a mix of office and remote work.

Responsibilities include legal advice on NFT products, conducting due diligence, negotiations and drafting agreements for projects in the field of “new technologies”.

The candidate is expected to have at least five years’ experience in corporate transactions, experience at a major international law firm, and strong communication and project-management skills.

In 2022, Disney devoted non-fungible tokens, augmented reality technologies and artificial intelligence.

In February, former Disney president and CEO Robert Iger expressed concern about copyright infringement in the NFT sector.
