DJ Alesso to send two NFT-collection owners into space
Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Alesso announced the release of the Cosmic Genesis NFT collection on the OneOf platform. Of the NFT owners, two lucky individuals will be able to embark on a suborbital flight.
The initiative will be presented on November 4 in New York as part of the Dreamverse digital art festival, organized by the NFT fund Metapurse. The event will be devoted to music, art and technology focused on non-fungible tokens.
The spaceflight is organized by World View. Passengers in a hermetically sealed capsule will be carried to an altitude of 30.5 km by a balloon. The journey will last six to 12 hours.
The company has seven launch sites — the Amazon rainforest, aurora-viewing areas in Norway, the Grand Canyon in the United States, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, the Great Wall of China and Serengeti National Park in Kenya. The cost of the flight is estimated at $50,000.
“My first NFT is a space journey that takes my breath away,” commented Alesso.
Cosmic Genesis consists of 3,333 NFTs representing four episodes of a space journey in a science-fiction style. Tokens from four chapters of the collection are already available. The final edition, “One of One,” in a single variant containing all episodes and expanded content, will be auctioned at the Dreamverse event. The starting price will be $6,666.
The NFT videos are created by the Rough Draft Studios animation studio, known for The Simpsons and Futurama. Alesso produced the soundtrack.
The owner of the One of One is guaranteed a seat in the World View capsule. The second lucky person will be chosen from among the other NFT-collection owners.
OneOf positions itself as a “eco-friendly” NFT platform on the Tezos blockchain, designed for the music community.
As reported, the OneOf platform entered into an agreement with the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to issue NFTs for the 64th, 65th and 66th Grammy Awards.
In May OneOf raised $63 million in a seed funding round. Participants included environmental activist Bill Tai, Jack Herrick, Suna Said from Nima Capital, Sangha Capital and the Tezos Foundation.
