Dmitry Peskov: Russia must develop its own cybersecurity standards

Russia is constantly coming under cyberattacks, and therefore must build information sovereignty. This was stated by the «РИА Новости», the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Digital and Technological Development, Dmitry Peskov.

“I think that right now the most pressing task for us is building our own technological standards that will ensure Russia’s cybersecurity,” he said.

Peskov added that talks about international-level agreements in cybersecurity are still premature, and compared this issue to digital assets:

“The same situation as with cryptocurrencies. There is not yet genuine trust — it’s impossible to reach any serious agreement.”

Earlier, Peskov described the idea of a ‘sovereign Runet’ as an inevitable revolution.
