The premiere of the film titled Ethereum: The Infinite Garden is planned for winter 2023. It is being produced by Optimist.
The fundraising target was 750 ETH (about $1.37 million at the time of writing). 662 contributors donated 1035.96 ETH.
The film’s most generous contributors will be credited in the credits. They will also receive non-fungible tokens.
The funds raised will be allocated as follows:
- 95% — for the film’s production budget;
- 3% — for Gitcoin grants to support Ethereum open-source projects;
- 2% — donations to a fund for reducing global carbon emissions.
Earlier in May 2021, Ethereum’s rise above $3,000 made Buterin a billionaire.
