Dormant Bitcoin Address Awakens, Moves $180 Million

An address inactive for 14 years has transferred 2,000 BTC, valued at over $180 million, to a new location, as noted by analysts at Lookonchain.

According to experts, the user mined these coins back in 2010 and has held onto them ever since.

As reported by CoinDesk, the wallet acquired the assets when Bitcoin was trading at $0.06, turning $120 into $180 million over 14 years.

In September, a wallet inactive for over a decade moved 35 BTC, worth $2 million, to a new address. That same month, an unknown miner from the Satoshi Nakamoto era transferred 250 BTC, valued at $16 million, after 15 years.

In October, a Bitcoin whale moved coins mined in 2009 worth $3.58 million. In the same month, a 14-year dormant address transferred 50 BTC, valued at $3.4 million.

In November, amid rising Bitcoin prices, users moved 325 BTC and 42.3 BTC.
