Dormant Miner Moves $3.3 Million in Bitcoin After Nearly 14 Years

A miner has moved 50 BTC (~$3.3 million) for the first time, which were earned as a reward for mining a block on April 23, 2010. This activity was highlighted by Lookonchain.

According to on-chain data, 17 BTC were sent to an address linked to withdrawals from the Coinbase exchange. The remaining amount effectively stayed in the wallet under new credentials.

In January, an unknown Bitcoin whale moved 49,866 BTC (~$2.1 billion at the time), which had not been moved for five to seven years.

In November 2023, 6,500 BTC, which had been held for six years, were set in motion.

In the second half of 2023, market maker Wintermute recorded a 400% increase in over-the-counter crypto trading volume compared to the first half of the year.
