Dubai Police Unveils Cardano-Based Forensic Solution

The Dubai Police Department has showcased a pilot project based on the Cardano network for storing and transmitting data related to criminal investigations. This was revealed by GhostFund co-founder Chris O.

The law enforcement solution securely transmits confidential information to other authorities such as Interpol.

For instance, the technology can send scans of bullets in concrete as a file within the encrypted Cardano network. Essentially, the transmitted objects will represent a form of NFT.

“Blockchain ensures that data cannot be tampered with and can be tracked among various stakeholders. […] Ensuring secure information sharing and management in a decentralized network is becoming increasingly relevant in various industries—from energy and defense to the Internet of Things,” added Chris O.

He also noted that this is an important step for the Cardano ecosystem and blockchain technology as a whole.

Details about the duration of the pilot phase and the practical application of the development are currently unknown.

Omar Shands, President of Skypath Security, commented on the Dubai Police’s Cardano project, stating that blockchain is a valuable tool that is becoming increasingly relevant in the security sector.

In May 2022, Dubai’s cryptocurrency market regulator announced the opening of a headquarters in the metaverse The Sandbox.

Back in 2021, Ok Group, the parent company of the crypto exchange OKEx, announced a collaboration with the Nanjing Public Security Research Institute (China) to apply blockchain in operations against anti-money laundering law violators.
