Dubai school to accept tuition payments in Bitcoin and Ethereum

Citizens School in Dubai, due to open in September, will offer parents of students the option to pay tuition in Bitcoin and Ethereum, according to the portal Zawya.

Payments will be accepted via a processing service that converts crypto assets into the local dirham.

“By introducing a new payment method, we expect to strengthen the role of the younger generation in the development of the UAE’s digital economy. While many people are already reaping the fruits of the new era, today’s children will become the entrepreneurs and investors of the future,” says the founder of Citizens School, Adil Alzaruni.

Earlier, Dubai authorities passed a law on virtual assets and established the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority to regulate the sector. Since then, Binance and FTX have obtained licenses to operate in the UAE.
