Eclipse Labs Bars Team from Participating in Airdrop

The team behind the L2 project Eclipse Labs will be excluded from the upcoming ES token airdrop. The developers aim to prevent insider manipulation of the supply, which has plagued other launches.

All employees have signed agreements to forgo receiving tokens. They have provided addresses for all their wallets, including test ones, to be excluded from the distribution list.

Eclipse’s statement highlights that airdrop farming by teams has become a significant issue.

“This is a tactic used to obfuscate the real circulating supply of the token. This will not happen with ES,” the company stated.

According to the developers, this will ensure transparent coin distribution from day one, allocating the entire token pool to actual users. The assets of the team and investors will be locked for a year post-listing, then gradually released over three years.

The project was founded in 2022. In November 2024, it launched a rollup network on Ethereum using SVM. The goal is to combine the security of the blockchain of the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap with the speed of Solana.

Earlier, activity in Kraken’s L2 network Ink increased ahead of its airdrop. The daily transaction volume exceeded 500,000.
