The token was sold on the Foundation platform to a user under the alias PleasrDAO. All proceeds will go to the Freedom of the Press Foundation.
Since 2016 Snowden has served as president of an organization that advocates press freedom and opposes journalism that places the authorities’ interests above those of the public.
The NFT “Stay Free” depicts a digital portrait of Snowden made from cuttings of documents related to a lawsuit alleging violations of U.S. law by the NSA.
In April, Kyiv artists from the INTROVADERS tokenized Dmitry Gordon.
Earlier the cult catchphrase “And this is good” from the YouTube show “This is хорошо” was put up for sale.
