EigenLayer to Lift Token Transfer Restrictions on September 30

The developers of the EigenLayer protocol intend to lift restrictions on the transfer of EIGEN tokens starting September 30. Token holders will be able to trade and transfer their tokens, including airdrop rewards.

The next major step in the evolution of EIGEN is coming soon!

Transfer restrictions on the EIGEN token are expected to be removed on September 30th, 2024.

Please note that if your EIGEN is currently staked, there is a 7-day withdrawal period for unstaking EIGEN.

Users will be given seven days to unlock EIGEN from staking.

The update follows the distribution of 86 million tokens during the second season of Stakedrop. The airdrop targeted active participants from March 15 to August 15, 2024.

Initially, tokens issued during the current and previous seasons could not be transferred.

According to DeFi Llama, the project’s TVL stands at $12.3 billion. In June, the metric exceeded $20 billion. The project significantly outpaces competitors in the restaking sector.

In August, the Ethereum supply surpassed 120 million ETH, driven by the growth of coins locked in staking and restaking protocols.
