The total value locked (TVL) in EigenLayer’s restaking protocols has reached $15.13 billion. Developers have lowered entry limits and integrated new services.
On April 9, the project team launched the main restaking platform and the beta version of the EigenDA data availability layer on the Ethereum mainnet.
Following the primary implementation phase, developers introduced several updates. The latest reduced the minimum staking threshold for EigenDA operators from 320 ETH to 96 ETH.
1/ We’ve lowered min stake for EigenDA operators from 320 -> 96 ETH! What’s this mean for you?
Operators: Lower barrier to secure EigenDA
Restakers: Consider delegating to operators with <1000 ETH to improve decentralization!
Rollups: Better performance w/a larger operator set— EigenLayer (@eigenlayer) April 17, 2024
Previously, EigenLayer announced the implementation of rollups at the availability layer. Among the added services are AltLayer, Brevis, Eoracle, Lagrange, WitnessChain, and Xterio.

Generating excitement before the mainnet launch, EigenLayer also attracted Google, Coinbase, and HashKey as protocol operators.
In a publication on April 22, project representatives noted that following the mainnet launch, users locked over 2.2 million ETH. A significant portion of assets was attributed to the Renzo restaking protocol.
The delegation momentum is going strong!
2.2M of restaked ETH has been delegated on EigenLayer since the mainnet launch.
Thanks to users and LRTs like Renzo for leading the way.

Despite the platform’s high popularity, DEX 3Jane developer known as Chudnov warned of a potential yield crisis for EigenLayer.
Earlier, experts examined the impact of restaking on Ethereum’s on-chain metrics.
Back in February, the EigenLayer team secured $100 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, while project co-founder Sriram Kannan stated there were no plans to issue a native token.
