Elon Musk declines sale of NFT techno-track after Beeple’s $69 million offer

Tesla and SpaceX chief Elon Musk has changed his mind about selling a techno-track about non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

“It doesn’t feel right to sell this. I will back out,” the billionaire wrote.

On March 15, Musk published an NFT on his Twitter and said he would put it up for sale. On the Valuables marketplace anonymous bidders posted an auction for the tweet with the announcement.

At the time of writing, the highest bid for the billionaire’s NFT tweet stood at $1.1 million. It was placed by Sina Estavi, founder of Bridge Oracle.

Digital artist Mike Winkelmann, known as Beeple, offered $69 million for Musk’s NFT. In response, the billionaire requested 420 million DOGE — about $24.3 million at the rate at the time of writing.

“The buzzworthy offer from Musk helped divert tens of millions of his followers on Twitter from news about leadership shake-ups at Tesla and the federal investigation into the Tesla crash last week,” CNBC writes.

Earlier in March, the head of Tesla named himself ‘Techno-King’, and the company’s CFO Zach Kirkhorn was dubbed ‘Master of the Coin’.

Earlier, Musk’s girlfriend and mother of his sixth child, singer Grimes, sold a collection of NFTs featuring unreleased music for $6 million.
