Elon Musk responds to idea of selling SpaceX and Starlink merch for Dogecoin

On February 14, one Twitter user, in response to Elon Musk’s post, asked whether SpaceX and Starlink merch stores could accept Dogecoin as payment. The entrepreneur replied with a winking emoji.

Starlink is a satellite internet service that provides broadband access in hard-to-reach places without ground-based communications infrastructure. Spacecraft are launched into orbit by SpaceX rockets.

A few hours before that tweet, the entrepreneur posted the equally cryptic sweat-droplets emoji under a McDonald’s teaser with the caption: “Something’s coming”.

In May 2021, the billionaire ran a Twitter poll with almost 400,000 followers about whether Tesla should accept meme cryptocurrency as payment. At that time the company was selling electric cars for Bitcoin, but soon abandoned this option.

In January 2022, Tesla began offering certain goods for Dogecoin.

Earlier the entrepreneur announced the launch of SpaceX’s Doge-1 satellite in 2022. He said the mission was fully paid for with meme cryptocurrency.
