Elon Musk has announced Neuralink’s next product—Blindsight, designed to help blind individuals see.

The process begins by capturing visual data using a camera or similar device. This data is processed by a computer and converted into a “brain-understandable format”—electrical impulses.

These impulses are then transmitted to the implanted Neuralink device, which stimulates the cerebral cortex, mimicking natural perception.

For individuals with diseases or injuries to the visual pathways, this approach offers an alternative means of receiving information. The ultimate goal is to stimulate the brain in such a way that the person can interpret these signals as meaningful visual data. 

The article claims that the product “essentially offers a new form of vision.” The company has not yet announced a recruitment of candidates for testing. 

Previously, it was reported that a patient with a Neuralink chip implant learned to control a computer using thoughts.

Back in February, a person with a Neuralink brain implant completed a full rehabilitation course.
