Elon Musk Withdraws Lawsuit Against OpenAI
Billionaire Elon Musk has withdrawn his lawsuit against OpenAI and the company’s CEO, Sam Altman. This was reported by Cointelegraph, citing court documents.
Musk’s lawyers requested the withdrawal of the lawsuit without prejudice. This means that the case will not be permanently closed, allowing the entrepreneur to potentially resume proceedings in the future.
The lawsuit was withdrawn a day before a federal judge was set to decide whether to dismiss the case or move it to the next stage.
On February 29, Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Altman for allegedly violating an agreement “to develop technology for the benefit of humanity rather than for profit.” At that time, he demanded that OpenAI return to open-source principles and prohibit the defendants from profiting from the firm’s AI technologies.
Earlier, Musk had threatened to ban Apple devices in his companies if OpenAI’s ChatGPT was integrated into operating systems for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Previously, Apple announced the integration of the chatbot into Siri and other services in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
