Elrond Network rebrands as MultiversX, bets on metaverses

The European blockchain project Elrond Network has renamed itself MultiversX to reflect its interest in the metaverses segment.

The project intends to build on its previous work to promote the Web3 technology in the form of products linked to the metaverse.

Interest in the segment is also being shown by other major companies and institutions. In October Meta confirmed that it regards the metaverse as the future of humanity. It later emerged that in July-September the loss of its Reality Labs amounted to $3.7 billion ($9.4 billion since the start of the year).

In the same month, Mark Zuckerberg’s company entered into a partnership with the cosmetics brand L’Oréal to run the accelerator program for metaverse startups.

Earlier, Interpol and Walmart-owned индийский маркетплейс Flipkart announced plans to launch their own virtual worlds.
