One of the world’s largest airlines, Emirates Airlines, announced Bitcoin payments and the release of an NFT collection. Local media report this.
At a press briefing, the carrier’s chief operating officer Adel Ahmed Al-Reda noted Emirates Airlines’ interest in using blockchain for aircraft accounting and in metaverse technology.
“Metaverses will transfer traditional training operations and ticket sales into the digital world, which will make them more interactive,” he said.
To develop new projects, the carrier will hire specialized staff.
Earlier in October 2021, the Salvadoran airline Volaris added Bitcoin payments.
