ENS registrations jump 163% in a week

For the week from 27 June to 3 July, the number of registrations in the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) amounted to 78,566. The figure rose by 163.6% compared with the previous seven days.

Only on Sunday, July 3, 29,727 ENS domains were registered. Revenue for the service that day exceeded $684,000 — more than a third of the $1.8 million total for the period.

After the record-breaking metrics of the system were recorded in May, June figures fell significantly. However figures for the first days of July showed renewed growth in ENS popularity.

As of writing, domain registrations in the month underway stood at 109,312, versus 122,327 in the previous month. Revenue for the service had already approached $1.99 million, while June’s total reached $2.55 million.

On the largest NFT marketplace, OpenSea, ENS domains are among the top three collections by trading volume. Over the past seven days the metric rose by almost 280%.

Earlier, on July 3, an unknown owner sold the 000.eth domain on OpenSea for 300 ETH (about $316,000).
